After School Program

(Online Registration)

The City of Newberry After School Program strives to enrich its community by enhancing the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of children.  It is our mission to provide a quality recreational and educational program that students, teachers, parents, and community members feel is safe, caring and nurturing for all.

Bus transportation from school to the Sports Complex is provided.  The program also offers day camps for teacher work days, as well as weekly camps during Christmas break and Spring break.  It is our goal to provide recreational activities that build teamwork and leadership skills, while emphasizing active, healthy lifestyles.

Stop by the Easton-Newberry Sports Complex to learn more about the After School Program.  These youth were lucky enough to

meet two visiting archers

from Austria during an after school  program.  You never know WHO you might meet!

After School program activities

Mentored Activities.
The Program starts when the Newberry School bus drops the youth off in front of the Sports Complex.  They are met and checked off by staff, and guided into the facility to drop off backpacks and personal items.

Throughout the afternoon, all youth are under the watchful eye of the staff.  At the end of the day, each youth is checked out when a family member, or pre-approved adult, shows a photo identification.

Homework.

Once the youth are checked in and given a snack, they hit the books to complete their homework.  Each youth has a folder with the daily assignment in it.  Extra reading time is provided if needed.

Lots of Energy.

Each day, a program schedule is finalized prior to the youth arriving.  Homework is followed with games, short periods of open play, and plenty of exercise for active bodies!

Parent Involvement.

Parents are encouraged to participate and volunteer in the City of Newberry After        School Program!
